The story of Fizza Shoaib, founder of FIG Practice Partners.

Fizza Shoaib did not start out in business. She started out in psychology.

As a psychology student at Quaid-i-Azam University and later a Clinical Psychology candidate at SZABIST in Islamabad, Fizza learned how much weight a single moment of care can carry. A warm first message, a clear intake form, or a reminder sent at the right time can shape whether someone feels safe enough to ask for help.

She brought that understanding into the world of healthcare administration. Working as a medical virtual support, Fizza supported mental health practices across the USA, Canada, and the UK, handling patient intake, scheduling, insurance verification, billing support, EHR/EMR management, and healthcare content. She worked inside platforms such as SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, and Jane App, and she saw the same pattern again and again: skilled clinicians were spending their evenings on paperwork instead of their patients.

She also noticed a gap. Many assistants knew the software but did not understand the sensitivity of therapy. Many marketers knew the trends but did not understand clinical ethics. Practices needed someone who understood both. 

That gap became FIG Practice Partners.

Why FIG exists

Fizza built FIG as a clinically informed team that brings together psychology training, healthcare administration, data and technology, and quality assurance. What began as one person’s dedicated support grew into a multidisciplinary team, so practices could have one dependable partner for the business side of care.

Her approach is simple: treat every task as if a patient is on the other end of it, because one always is.
